Don't forget, tomorrow night you should come down to the Stork Club at 2330 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland to join Plasterkatz and a whole club full of friends to celebrate the Festival of Fans!
Here's what the creators of this milestone event have to say about it:
Have you ever asked yourself why there aren't enough events around that encourage people to sing through fans?
Well, now's your chance... extra points for wearing costumes and recreating the poster scene!

The Festival of Fans was originally conceived as an epic music festival that would take place at the Altamont Pass among the windmills and gigantic fans. The bill was going to be filled by bands created from the lists of throwaway band names that bands generate when they are trying to name their band. "Rollercoaster Kitty," "Hippy Ice Cream Truck," and "The Polyester Foresters" are examples of potential openers. Eventually, the idea morphed into a Sunday BBQ at the Stork Club with real bands. We will celebrate things fantastic, like a bunch of fanatics. There will be fan dancing, autograph signing, and performers will be encouraged to sing through the spinning blades of a fan. It is going to be awesome!
Starring:
4pm - The Happy Clams
5pm - October Allied
6pm - The Lemmies
7pm - The Bleu Canadians
8pm - Plasterkatz
9pm - The Clarences
10pm - Rollercoaster Summer
11pm - Brad Electro
12am - Mike Glendinning
DJ Mole will be spinning throughout the evening
So come on down and join us! $7 at the door! It's a holiday weekend! So Sunday is another Saturday!
See you there!
